Craig Davis
Drums, Backup Vocals

Drumming since the age of 12, Craig has always had a love for thundring drums and percussion. Craig provides the thunderous backbone to Play It Forward's solid rhythm section. Craig was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island but has lived the majority of his life in Colorado, growing up in Colorado Springs. He has lived in Castle Rock for the past 15 years.

Realizing his dream of getting a college education and then raising a family, Craig put his drumming on hold for a number of years, but never lost his love for music and the desire to play the drums. He rekindled the flame after purchasing a used drum set in the late 90’s. Shortly after that, he began jamming with some neighborhood friends. This led him to pursue a bigger dream of putting together a band that could perform all over the Denver metro area and Colorado Springs.

Under the original name of "Loco Krackers", Craig was one of the founding members of the band, the evolution of which is now the tight sound of "Play it Forward". His musical influences include the Eagles, Boston, Elton John, Chicago, REO Speedwagon, Journey, Rush, Melissa Etheridge, and Sheryl Crow.

Making the deals and beating down the doors, Craig puts a great deal of effort toward promoting and furthering the goals of the band. As a result, Play It Forward has become a major player in the Denver music scene allowing Craig to obtain another life-long goal of performing live music.

>Ronnie Frosch
Guitar

Looking forward, a portal in time opened, drawing Ronnie from the past (New York) and depositing him in the present (Colorado).

Even fully aware of this – and with no way to return to his own point in time – Ronnie joined Play It Forward, living in Colorado and spending his days hiking, motorcycling, and studying a diverse list of master guitar players including Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Jimmy Page, Dickey Betts, George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Hendrix, Steve Morse, Eric Johnson, Ted Greene, Jimmy Bruno, Mick Taylor, Scott Henderson , Joe Pass, Mark Knopfler, Clif Kuplen, Danny Gatton, Steve Howe, John McLaughlin and Jeff Beck, to name a few.

And with his scorching leads and intricate chordal guitar work, Ronnie blazes a path for the audience to rock and groove on the dance floor. Raised in NY, Ronnie brings many diverse styles from rock to jazz to funk to fusion to country to the synergy and chemistry that is Play It Forward.

Directly quoting the Beatles “ I’ll give you everything I got for some piece of mind”, Ronnie finds the music, magic, and friendship of Play It Forward to be great for the soul.

Jeff Lawrence
Keyboards, Saxophone, Vocals

Kids, nope; ex-wife, no way…Pro-music, that’s my life!!! Jeff was born into a musical family, a mixture of “The Sound of Music” and “Mommy Dearest”. Lessons on the piano were compulsorily. His first gigs were with his brother and sister performing for the grown-ups at parties. People really did used to put lamp shades on their heads.

Even though Jeff began playing on the road at an early age he managed to stay in one place long enough to graduate from Central Florida University in Orlando where he worked at Disney World. He learned to play his sisters guitar and took clarinet lessons. He played bass guitar for many years when that was what was needed. Jeff has literally played all over the United States and in many foreign countries as a member of the US Air Force. We live in the computer age. A modern keyboard is a tiny computer that can sample and reproduce hundreds of sounds. Jeff was drawn to the early synthesizers and stuck with it all through the different eras of popular music.

Yes, Jeff works hard at learning music, but there’s one thing he works longer and harder at, and that’s comedy. As a genetically mutation of a lawyer and third-grade teacher, Jeff is sure to have something to say for himself on any occasion. If you want to know something, just ask Jeff….

Seasoned musician is the best way to describe Jeff. It was only natural for Jeff to gravitate towards the area that was most needed on any musical project. Along the way he developed a taste for casual Sax. He has been able to fill in on all the necessary musical slots including keyboards, guitar, bass and saxophone. The key of course is practice, so a musician never really has any spare time or spare change. On land, sea, or in the air, if there is a gig out there, Jeff will find it, play it, and then get invited back. It’s what musicians do!!

Gary Haarbye
Bass Guitar, Vocals

Born in the Hudson Valley of New York, Gary began his music career at an early age. Classical piano was started at the age of 4, clarinet at 9, guitar at 10 and Oboe at 13. He studied classical piano for 17 years under the tutelage of Barbara Connor and studied Oboe (later to become his major) under the tutelage of David Weiss.

As an advanced musical student, Gary hooked up with older more advanced players early on that introduced him to the blues, and then the progression went on to Jazz, both standard and modern. His first working (and profitable) band was at the age of 13.

Salem University in West Virginia is where Gary graduated from. He then came to Colorado and went on the road with Whisper for three years. At the end of that stint he taught music K-12 in the public school system. He has played in many bands since that time. He now teaches music (both in public and private settings) and is currently working on his Masters of Education.

Some of Gary’s influences are (but not limited to), Beethoven, Janice Peterson, Janis Joplin, Aerosmith, Charles Mingus, Chick Corea and Return to Forever, Miles Davis and Johnny Winter. Two of my favorite rock lyric Lines: "Let the music do the Talkin'" (Aerosmith,(J Perry)) and "Don't get deep, shut up and dance" (Aerosmith, (S Tyler,J Perry)) Rock On!!!
